Apple II+ to Mac

Hi,

I just saw Apple IIe's referenced in the FAQ; will the Apple File Exchange
ProDos to Mac filter handle Apple II+ files?

In an attempt to get a copy of my old Applesoft Basic files and Applewriter 
documents, I was thinking of running a cable from the Apple II+ serial port
(pr#2 ?)  to a Mac running a terminal program.  Then I could print to the 
serial port and/or list my BASIC programs and the terminal program would 
capture the output.  

Does this sound like it would work?
