Re: Dragon's Lair II, GS version in limbo

NO!!! You don't need to be on a network to play Doom with 2 people!!! You
only need to do a null modem connection thru the serial ports and wham! Also,
the reason DOOM is so cool is because of all of the WAD files out there with
all of the neatto levels, so the game doesn't get boring -- you just have to
modify it.

Look at it this way: if we had never modified our IIs, how long would we have
been interested in them (this includes programming them ourselves :)). Once
something has been explored, add something else to it to explore to keep it
fun! (While the nuclear power core on my computer is saying "TILT TILT" :))

WADs... wow, I think I'll have about 400 of them once I get my laptop and pay a
visit to a friend's house :) But if you want to do the WADs and the null
connection, look for a file called DOOMENU.EXE. It's a patch I think that will
allow you to load WADs (which are on the internet, too, so it shouldn't cost
much at all to get them), play with more than one person via a serial link,
etc.

As for the GS, Doom would be great, but with all of the hardware people telling
us that it would be next to impossible on the GS (which I just can't believe is
true), who knows? I'm just happy we have Wolf 3D -- Apple II Forever!!!!!
