What's happening in schools?

    We have been in the school market computer software business for 14 
years and early on new that the Apple II would dominate the market.  This 
vision came from my experience as a teacher and with a technical 
background the design, openness and appeal of the Apple II concept was 
clear.  The machine is no longer made and Apple has tried to force the 
school market to the Mac with poor success.  As well, there are questions 
that the MS DOS and Windows/OS2 machines are being used in the same way 
as Apples in the classroom, i.e. with simulations, database and 
spreadsheet systems, but most particularly as simulators where Apple 
enjoyed a special place in science and math by doing things that 
otherwise could not be done, or safely.
   If you are in teaching, or working with the schools as an advisor or 
volunteer, what do you see of the IBM MS DOS, etc. use?  Is it all 
"keyboarding" (typing) and wordprocessing with teachers using the 
machines for classroom management or is the "Computuer Revolution" still 
happening in your town?
