IMAGEWRITER II: Does it recognize RAM buffer???

                DOES IMAGEWRITER II RECOGNIZE THE PRINT-BUFFER?
                ===============================================

My favorite printers are daisy wheels and NEC thimble printers: noisy but
with excellent print quality.

Recently, with a IIGS system I bought locally, a platinum grey Imagewriter
II was tossed into the deal as a free bonus.

On the net, I bought an internal printer-buffer for the Imagewriter II.
It is an Orange Micro "Imagebuffer" which came with 64 of RAM installed.
In its two vacant RAM sockets, I installed two more RAM chips (TI 4256-15)
so it now has 128K.

Installation was according to the manual and went without problems.
However, does the printer actually recognize the RAM? This is the output
of the internal self-test:

======================================================================
ROMREV (04)

DIPSW1  (00000100)  DIPSW2 (1101), "1 = ON, 0 = OFF"

RAM =  0 KB   AT = ON

======================================================================

Neither manual ---- Imagewriter II manual nor the ImageBuffer manual ---
tells how to interpret that message, "RAM = 0 KB" My naive interpretation
is that the 128K that ought to be recognized is not....

What should I do????

Advice appreciated from anyone else who has the Orange Micro Imagebuffer
installed in their printer.

NOTE: I am well experienced at installing interface cards and, of course,
all power was turned off when I inserted the RAM chips and then when I
installed the ImageBuffer board into the printer.
