DOWNLOADING PROGRAM FILES USING POINT TO POINT:
TUTORIAL NEEDED
==============================================
I have never yet managed to download program files using my software,
Point-to-Point. Right now, I have several programs waiting for me
at the college internet computer. These files are BINSCIIed and
Shrunk. But how exactly do you use X-modem to get them onto a disk?
I have read and reread the Point-to-Point manual. Its vague on some
procedures and I am missing something vital. I realize that I must use
open-apple-3, and I can get to the screen that asks whether I want to
receive or transmit. I realize that I must have a formatted Prodos
blank disk waiting in the drive to receive the program. I realize that
I must know the e-mail number of the incoming file. But the directions
beyond that point get fuzzy.
How do I tell the college computer to send that file to mine, and
how do I get it taken in?
The college has a UNIX system, which, I understand is a common
standard server.
Point-to-Point experts out there, tell me what to do!
