Thanks too, Jeremy. I just got a IIgs yesterday and was curious about
the same thing... It did seem that the OS was polling the drives. I
have an Apple 3.5 Drive, an Apple Drive, and two UniDisk 3.5 drives.
The LEDs pulse noticeable on the 5.25 and both UniDisk 3.5s, but the 3.5
is nice and silent. While enjoying a few sound programs, I did notice
the annoying clicking sounds on my home stereo when the volume is
audible. Is there a better way that the drives can be automatically
polled without the pulsing, spinning, and clicking?
