Re: RamFAST stuff (was:Re: RamFAST bullcrap)

This is a related message I sent to Jawaid but never got an answer cause
he doesn't check his DELPHI mail that often.

My Quantum HD and RamFAST has been acting funny to day. When booting it
froze mid-boot. I finally narrowed the problem down to the RamFAST driver
in the Drivers folder. When I removed it the system booted fine.

I brought up the RamFAST system, installed RamFAST again but when I came
back to the desktop, checked the Drivers folder and **the RamFAST driver
was not in it**. I have tried several times without success making
certain the old RamFAST driver was stored on a floppy and the trash empty.
But each time the RamFAST driver does not appear in the directory or
anywhere on the first partion that my file finder can find.

I have had only one glitch all day, when the system said that perhaps my
boot partion was damaged when I was manipulating files to localize the
problem. I have done lots of copying, deleting, and verifying since then
with no problems.

I am surprised the system boots from the HD and works well with no RamFAST
driver. I must confess I do not understand GS/OS well enough to know how
the HD can work so well with out a driver.

Two questions:

1. Should I not worry about it and ignore the fact that there is no
RamFAST driver in the Driver system folder?

2. If it will be a future problem: do you have any idea what's going on
and why?
