I dunno, I hang out on #appleIIgs because it's kinda like my favorite
bar. It's a cool place to go and hang with people you know, meet new
people, chat about things that interest you, etc. etc. The channel's
been on the net for what, 2, 3 years now? I've been on it for a better
part of that time, been kicked, banned, banned and kicked people myself.
Remeber that the people that hang there are people- they're not paid
to answer GS questions, and they don't have a mandate to do so. If you
ask a GS question, somone'll probably answer it, but if you come on
acting like a choad and bugging the hell out of people because they
don't know or don't care about your questions, then you'll likely
get booted. (Gee, the more I think about it, the more it IS like my
favorite bar!)

Point being, if you don't like it, stay they hell off, and stop
your bloody complaining about it! If all you need
is the answer to a GS question, then post to usenet. If you need it
in a hurry, feel free to ask on IIgs, but don't act like an ass.

It's all quite simple really.

I don't think this #apple2gs will ever survive, simply because people
aren't interested in holding moderated real-time discussions with
strictly controlled rules of behaviour. It just doesn't work in
an inherently anarchic medium like irc.
