RamFAST with Floptical?

I am borrowing an Iomega Floptical drive (previously used on a Mac) to
test it on my ROM 1 GS. If it works I'll buy it. (Any ideas on a fair
price?)
My RamFAST revision C ROM V3.00h w/256K recognized the drive but gave an
MLI error when trying to format it. Partitioning didn't work either, but
I think you format first and partition second. There were no other
apparent problems -- it even recognized the difference between a 21MB
floppy and a standard HD floppy.
Do I need a ROM upgrade for the RamFAST? If so, who, where, & how much?
Anyone else successfully using this combination?
