First rule out the hardware: Make sure that it is a HARDWARE handshaking
cable you are using.
Second: Make sure the GS Control panel is set up properly. For example:
Starting at the top, leave everything default till you get to the
buffering: YES, then BAUD:19200, Data/parity: 8N1
Now the next two choices really depend upon the type of cable that you
have. Personally, I don't have a normal pinout on my cable so I have:
DCD: YES DSR/DTR: NO NB: This is the reverse of what most
people should have.
And XON: NO
After that's done, it is just a matter of playing around with the proterm
settings. Do this, get online with your modem save all your settings to
NVRAM then for an init string simply specify something like AT H0.
