Hi Derick!
The quick fix for your IIGS (IMHO) is pop a 4 Mb RAM card
from Sequential Systems in it, add FlashBoot from Quality Computers
(this will let you set up a nifty 2.4 Mb RAM disk in leu of a hard
drive), get GSOS v6.01, HardPressed (to stretch your RAM disk),
Pointless (for True Type fonts), and upgrade to AWGS v1.1. Version
1.1 is a VAST improvement over 1.0 (much faster and more stable).
I did all of my graduate work (chemical engineering) on my GS and
wrote all by the last draft of my thesis using AWGS v1.1. Soooo, in
my humble opinion, yeah, I think you GS would serve you well in grad
school. However, opinions are free and worth every cent. :)
Have fun!
John
