Actually, they both work.  They're not the same, though--most of the stuff
on ftp.support.apple.com is stored in a Mac format (so that you need a Mac
to unpack the Apple II disks), while most of the Apple II stuff on
ftp.apple.com is stored in formats that can be unpacked directly on an
Apple II.
