Oh well it's happened before

other advantages of ROM 3:
easy access built in
faster smartport firmware
appletalk can be in slot 1 or 2 in addition to slot 7
resize ram disk after reset option
advantages of ROM 01:
can use //e keyboard and power supply
considerably easier to find and cheaper (I recently got a ROM 01 box to help
a friend set up a system and paid $50. I helped another friend move up to ROM 3
and it took $250 to get a ROM 3 box)

There's some old crappily written stuff that won't run on a ROM 3. But most
of it also won't run with the current system software either. Some old memory
cards designed a long time before the ROM 3 appeared are said to have some
problems too.

The DMA in the first 4 mb means the first 4 on a memory card. There's no DMA
problem on a 5 mb ROM 3.

Yep the board is a lot better designed and has no noise like the 01.
