Sheesh...this is probably on its way to becoming a Frequently Asked Question...

The problem is there isn't just one answer to this question...some versions
of FTP are really weird.  On all the versions available to me, it works to
put quotation marks around the filename, like this:

     cd "Apple SW Updates"

If that doesn't work on your system, talk to your system gurus and ask them
how to get FTP to accept directory names with spaces in them.

Better yet, look for "gopher" on your system.  If you have it, type this:

     gopher ftp.support.apple.com

Then you won't have to type any filenames at all--just select the
directories and files from the menus.
