Re(2): //+ Video question

This has nothing to do with a videe problem, but rather a comment you made
about using a ][+ to teach computer fundamnetals. It kinda reminds me
something I read a few years back when the Cessna 152 was first built about
how it was much easier to fly than it's predecessor the Cessna 150 (the bird
I learned to fly in). The comment was; a trainer should have enough good
habits to make it easy to learn, and enough bad to teach you a lesson. That's
pretty close to the Apple ][+. The hardware and operating system are simple
enough to learn _how a computer works_ and you can grasp how the whole system
works, and it's sophisticated enough you can actually do quite a lot with it.
It also has sufficient limitations on a fundamental level to clearly
demonstrate why computers aren't built that way anymore. What really funny,
is that a thourough computer course could run full circle, from the ][+
through the CISC based computers, and end up at RISC which isn't too
different than the processor used in the ][+ except it runs REAL FAST, and
it's got all the operating system development we've learned since DOS 3.3
behind it.

So, yeah, I think the ][+ (or it's kin) could play a valuable role as a
stepping stone in computer education.
Have fun!
