A IIC will support up to 9600 baud. Right now, I'm only using 2400 baud.
Hope this helps. (BTW, on the ftp address mac.archive.umich.edu you can
find a list of Apple II BBSs. I believe it's in the /pub/apple2
directory. You may have to go another level down to get to it, though. I
can send it to you in an e-mail file, if you want to do it that way.)
