The lesson to be learned from the AOL fiasco...beware of online services that
require you use their software. No matter how loyal a customer you are, if
they decide you're no longer worth supporting, you're out. I've no doubt the
DOS platform is next, and I wonder how long the Mac will be behind them. I
can hear it now "Oh no, they'll never do that to us!" Yeah, right. As far as
AOL, if they start saying they'll always be there for you, time to start
worrying.
