Faster Zip Parts Kit
<This message to be reposted to other services by anyone who has posted my
previous message(s) about the WDC chip orders, under terms stated in the
original message>
OK, here is the deal on the parts kit for the Zip upgrade. The kit will
include the following:
(1) 65C816 - 14 Mhz microprocessor
(4) 32K x 8 bit 25ns or faster cache Static RAMs (25ns theoretically
should handle up to 20 mhz [ 1 / (CPU Speed (mhz) * 2) ] )
(1) 74AC00 Quad 2-Input NAND gate - faster replacement for 7400 chip on
Zip
(1) 74AC02 Quad 2-Input NOR gate - faster replacement for 7402 chip on
Zip
(4) Strip Sockets, Machine Screw Type, Solder Tail, 14 pin (for SRAMs)
(1) IC Socket, Machine Screw type, 14 Pin (for Oscillator)
(1) 55mhz CMOS Crystal Oscillator (I can't seem to find 56's, this would
be 13.75 Mhz)
*** I will try 60 mhz osc's and see if they run reliably, that would
be 15 Mhz - it would be up to you to get higher speed osc's to
attempt anything higher than 13.75)
(1) 40-pin Dip Connector, gold (for new cable, optional)
(1) 40-pin Socket connectors gold (for new cable, optional)
(6") Ribbon Cable, multi color, 40 conductor (enough to put the Zip in any
slot - for new cable, optional)
(1) //gs compatible disk with a file on how to modify your Zip
Cost will be $100 including shipping in the U.S. (some foreign orders may
be slightly more for shipping).
If you don't want the parts for the gold cable (I highly recommend you use
a gold cable, especially when you are running speeds this high), you can
deduct $10 from the price.
For those who have already sent or are sending the money ($30) for the WDC
chip, just send the difference ($70) if you want to take advantage of the
rest of this offer.
Again, you MUST have the check to me before I order your parts, and I will
not warranty any of the parts nor guarantee your modifications of the
board.

Also, I will repeat here what I said in my earlier posts about this... I
will not tolerate bad checks from _anyone_. If you send me a bad check, I
_will_ prominently display your name here right along with those who honor
their commitments, stating that fact. If you don't want the embarassment
of everyone seeing your name in public, don't send me a bad check.
So..... if you've gotten this far, and still want to order, here is my
address:

Please post me E-Mail (GEnie address: K.LUCKE) when you send a check or
money order (no cash, please) to let me know it is on the way. I'll repeat
that, since some seem to have difficulties following instructions....<grin>
Post me _E-MAIL_, not a BB response, when you send your money.
