I've never noticed anything on any of the SCSI drives I've looked over that
makes the drive supply terminator power. To the contrary, my APS hard disk
case has a wire running from the power supply to one of the pins on one of the 
centronics connectors on the back of the case. Maybe it on the drive on SCSI-2
mechanisms but it's a function of the case on all others it appears.
