I had a similiar problem with my PCT a while ago. I had just gotten a used
WOZ Rom 01 machine and I wanted to transfer the PCT to it. Well when I started
it the monitor had a hard time trying to sync to the color switch. This was
on an unaccellerated GS BTW. I could hear the drive booting and all. Well
when I put it back on my origianl GS it worked fine monitor and all. The
motherboards between the two GS's were only a couple of months apart. The only
difference between the two is that the capacitors on the bottom for manufacture
fixes where going to two different places. The Woz motherboard works well for
everything else though.
