Help Transporter _modem_

Hello:

Please allow me to take a few moments of your time and thank those that have
been so willing to give advice, comment, and for having encourage me
regarding the dilemma I have encountered with high speed modem transmissions
with AE's PC Transporter. Thanks! I would also like to make a few comments
to some of those people:

How would one get in touch with Mr. Lin?

Mr. O'Neill, I have 2.04. Send your snail mailing address to me at
<jax@tenet.edu> Cc <JohnJ76@aol.com> . Be sure and reference
this! If anyone has the 2.0.5 let me know too!

Mr. Warrion, It is great if the price is right. Looks like 2400 is
as fast as a modem will go with it though?

Both. Also about 64 meg of my GS hard disk. I don't much think
the Transporter is capable of running Windows. Remember, it thinks
it is an 8088. If I am not mistaken, it takes a 80286 or better to
run Windows. It will run MS-DOS 6.2.

Seller was asking $150.00 for drives and card. Found, "IIGS
Installation Kit", for $12.00 elsewhere. The manual, VCR
installation tape, and software yet another place for $20.00.

Mr. Creager. It seems to me that a versed IIGS programer could
overcome it with a better interface program between the Apple side
and the PC side. The other peripherals (CRT, printer, HD) seem to
be interfacing faster than the 24.

I very much appreciate all the replies to my plea for help! Please
don't hesitate to continue your comments through E-Mail or to the
news groups (namely <comp.sys.apple2.comm> & <comp.sys.apple2>). I
feel there must be a solution to this dilemma of high speed
telecommunications with AE's PC Transporter. I realize it isn't
necessary considering the high speed capabilities of the Apple
side, but it sure would be nice.
