That's me...  I gotten full 14.4k connection (with LAP-M and goodies),
but the port rate was only 4800.  The slow speed of screen update was
one of the limiting factors (in terms of display).  Downloading a file,
throught Zmodem, I gotten 300-350 cps at best.  

This was with TWGS, and PC software was Telemate v4.x.

There's really no reason to use the PCT to modem, except maybe to get
true ANSI display.  But ANSIterm 2.x, Spectrum 1.x do good job of
ANSI emulation (so does Chat, TelCom II...)...
