I am a friend and workmate of David's, and I can assure you that
he is as knowledgeable in person as on the net :-)  Though his
special area of expertise is the Apple II family, he is a
compulsive detail-rememberer - I sometimes think he knows more
about IBM PCs than I do, despite the fact that I am a PC
programmer, and he doesn't even like them!

David is a busy guy.  He is very much in demand at work, and in
his other responsibilities, and he does spend a significant
amount of time helping people in the Apple II-related newsgroups,
so it was very decent and appropriate of you guys to thank him
in this way.

Though he is too modest to post onto this thread, I know he
appreciates your kind words and support.

BTW  David - I bet you were surprised to see my name in this
thread!  See you tomorrow.
