That's apl2em, one of the Apple ][ emulators for IBM. It is written in 8086 
assembly language and is very fast on a 386 or better machine. The first 
version of it contains the necessary ROM images. The second version of it 
has the ROM images removed owing to a copyright violation. Try poking the
net and you may be lucky enough to find a copy of the old version (with ROMs)
in some ftp site outside US.

   Also does anyone know of a way of reading Apple II disks onto some sort 
   of file on the IBM which can be accessed by the emulator as if they were 
   diskettes..?

You need *a working Apple ][* connected to a PC via a serial connection.
Read the FAQ list of comp.emulators.apple2. It contains information which
may be interesting to you.
