Re: LoadRunner - Anybody got it?

Many thanks to all of you who replied to my mail. From your responses I have
been able to find out how to get LoadRunner off the internet.

============================================================================
=		      ---== How to get LoadRunner ==---			   =
============================================================================

This is the way to get LoadRunner for your computer:

---== You need: ==---

1) Apple ][ emulator
2) The game itself

3) A program to convert .bin files to .dsk (PC users)

---== Where to get these from: ==---

1) wilbur.stanford.edu   pub/apple2
    This is were you can find apple2 emulators.
    The system (apple.rom) and disk (disk.rom) ROMs can be found in apl2em.zip
    You can fudge the serial ROM by copying the apple.rom to serial.rom
	( Never tried this, hope it works.)

PC users: go for the apl2em.zip file. It's all you really need.

Mac users: might want the Apple ][ emulator STM, which you can get from:
    cassandra.ucr.edu    pub/apple2

2) minnie.cs.adfa.oz.au    pub/apple2/Cassandra_mirror/incoming/images
    A bunch of apple disk images.
    This includes several apple games, the directory listing is bellow.

3) cassandra.ucr.edu    pub/apple2/incoming/Compress/bin2dsk.zip
    PC users will need this program to convers bin file to dsk files.
    apl2em uses dsk files.

---== Step by step guide for PC users ==---

I'm using a PC, so here's how I got Load Runner working:

1] Get the neccessary files down.
2] Uncompress them.
3] Put all the *.exe, *.rom, *.dsk, and *.bin files into one directory.
	you should have: apple.exe, apple.rom, disk.rom, disk6a.dsk,
			loadrunr.bin, bin2dsk.exe.
	(To be certain, you can simply put -all- the files in the same
	 directory. Most of them are *.asm files.)
4] Run bin2dsk like this: C:> bin2dsk loadrunr.bin disk6a.dsk
5] Run the emulator: C:> apple
6] Enjoy.

---== Using an Apple ][ ==---

If you want to have a go at using an apple, you will need to keep the file
disk6a.dsk somewhere. This file represents the startup disk, and copying a
file to disk6a.dsk is like putting a disk into the drive.

Here are the few commands I can remember:

catalog - list files on the disk
load file	- load "file" from the disk
save file	- save "file"

The rest of the commands are BASIC. eg Try these commands. `]' is the prompt.
] 10 print "hello world"
] 20 goto 10
] 30 end
] list
] run
^C	this will stop the program.

---== Programs List ==---

This is a directory listing of the Cassandra_mirror directory.

Note: Copying and running these games is probably software piracy, but
there seems to be no other way of getting them. As for me, I'm only the
messanger.
