57700 throughput on 19200 serial port?
Here's a very basic question that will really illustrate my ignorance
about the modem port (modems have always been things that just worked for
me, never asked alot of questions about 'em). I have setup the modem
port under the control panel to 19.2K baud (the maximum setting)... With this
in mind, is it still possible for a GS to ever see the threoretical 57.7K
throughput these 14.4K modems with MNP 5 compression claim to deliver on
uncompressed data?
Just curious. 14.4K is so much faster than the 2400 that I've grown used
to that I don't particularly care right now, but I foresee a day when 14.4K
will seem slow... ;).
