Are you saying that the "AppleDesign" extended keyboard works properly
on a ROM 3?  This is the new el-cheapo extended keyboard.

The original Apple Extended Keyboard and the Apple Extended Keyboard
II work fine on the ROM 1 and ROM 3 (I have the former, and used it on
my ROM 1 for several years before getting the ROM 3).  The ROM 3
automatically supports the Caps Lock light - you have to do this in
software on the ROM 1.
