Since you have a GS you can use toolbox calls. I had my GS hooked
up to my DOS box a while back and I can tell you it works. One thing you
MUST do is make sure baud rates are the same on both machines. Under
linux you must also fiddle around with three or four files to be sure you
can connect as a terminal.
I think all the linux files you need to change are in the /etc
directory. They are fairly simple changes. Read the linux FAQ about
terminals and try a variation on them.
On the GS side... You need the Toolbox reference manuals.
Specifically you need a list of calls for the Texttoolset. You can change
input/output ports as well as input/output strings or characters under
GSOS. If I had access to the binaries I may be tempted to whip up
something simple for you. Take my word for it. Use the toolbox. It is far
simpler.
