Wait just a moment, there is a much cheaper way of doing things, and
it applies to Apple as well as Mac computers.. It is called Apple Care..
For a few $$$$ per year per superdrive or any Apple 3.5 drive it is
fully covered for such type problems.. Get a problem with a covered
drive, just bring it to your nearest Apple dealer, and it will be
fixed for FREE, yup, thats right, at NO COST for each and every
repair, so will any such covered Apple made computer etc.... I don't
think it's ever too late to purchase Apple Care, as long as everything
is working properly at the time you get it.... It's an option, you
don't have to purchase it, however if you don't, then don't cry when
it costs $300 to change out a broken drive, or a motherboard, or
power supply or whatever...
