Never underestimate the power of the marketplace --

There are places like Shreve Systems, or Pre-Owned Electronics, or several
other places listed in the back of MacWeek that sell Macintosh and Apple
parts.  That's right -- parts.

Got a blown //c motherboard ?  Replace it for $59 + shipping.  Apple dealers
charge $250.  Buy a brand new Superdrive mech for $199.  Dealer exchange
price is, as mentioned, above $300.

Some places even sell pieces of things, like disk drive logic boards, eject
motors, etc ...
