You can get an IW II for $40-$100 used but I've seen ones with the original
packaging and manual and cable and extra ribbons and paper for $125.  Of course
these prices are found on the internet or at flea markets and not at mail-order
used computer stores.

The main reason I bought an Imagewriter II last December is that Imagewriter
II ribbons are cheap (~$2.50 each) and I had previously wasted laserprinter ink
cartridges on rough drafts, program listings and data dumps.  (Having a sheet
feeder helps because continuous computer paper tends to cost more than cheap
photocopy paper.)  Too bad DMP's are so noisy.

Besides, Imagewriters are fun if you happen to have a Thunderscanner or iron-on
color ribbons or strange-colored ribbons like gold and silver.
