The Passport card (for slotted II's) comes with midi IN and OUT and the
more sophisticated version (model MH02A) has drum sync and FSK sync
connectors, too. You should be able to pick up one of those for about $20.
I have used the card with SoundSmith, DiversiTune, SynthLab and other midi
apps. The hassle is the midi cables are too large to fit through IIGS' back
panel openings, so you'll have to remove the GS's front upper panel to run
the cables in and out.
Bill Basham reccommends an Opcode midi interface originally manufactured
for the Mac, I think it's called the Studio+2 or something, for his
program, DiversiTune. This device has two midi INs which can be used
together in Diversitune (very cool). I've seen these advertised on the net
for about $70.
I have an Apple /c Passport interface which I'd like to get working with
the IIGS. Does any one have any technical info about this device (Midi Pro
Interface)?
