This is false.
Standard implementations of Ymodem do indeed have an error correction
facility (CRC-16).
OTOH, Ymodem-G--probably the misnomered "Ymodem" of which you speak, is a
flavour of Ymodem that sacrifices error correction in favour of streaming;
it assumes that there is no possibility of line hits or error correction is
implemented at the hardware level.
