I guess it depends on which exact parts need replacing. The big
problem is that the Sony controller is tightly bound with the drive mech
itself. However, I was able to pull the heads out of an old Mac drive
and replace my IIgs' drive heads. After some minor adjustments, it still
works fine today (3 years later).
