You know, this doesn't surprise me at all. When I bought my Apple //GS
second hand I also got AWGS version 1.0 with it, but after trying out the
wordprocessor for a little while decided it was too slow and too buggy for
serious use, and went back to using the original (and very reliable)
Appleworks instead. Just a few weeks ago my sister wanted to use my
Apple //GS to do an assignment that requires graphs and tables, so I
decided to give AWGS another go. After spending many frustrating hours
trying to draw a single diagram and two charts, we finally got some
acceptable output, but it was the most painful experience I've ever had
the misfortune to go through!
I don't know whether AWGS version 1.1 is substantially better than
version 1.0, and I haven't bothered to upgrade, but I'm certainly not
impressed by Claris' ability to create a quality product. And based on
everything that has been said by Jerry about the state of the source code
and the non-existence of the documentation, I'm not surprised that Quality
Computers had to give up the project of developing AWGS version 2.0!
They've obviously done their best.

Well, who needs a WYSIWYG wordprocessor anyhow when you've got the
original Appleworks :-)
