   Could it be that you backed up the problem, and you're still seeing
it? I'd recommend a System 6.0.1 reinstallation just to try that.

   I think in Finder 6.0.1 that they put in an error number. If you
can see it (4 hex digits), write it down, and those of us with all the
reference manuals can tell you what the general problem is, maybe not
the cause, though.
