//c Upgrade ?

I have a question about the //c upgrade to fix the timing problem (going faster
than 1200 baud). Is this upgrade a motherboard swap or just a chip (or two)
replacement? The upgrade I am refering is to the original //c that will allow
it to go faster than 1200 baud.

I finally got my dealer to accept the //c for a FREE upgrade. I went out of
town for 40 days. My wife took the computer to the dealer and 3 weeks later
she got it back. I plugged it in and turn it on and got nothing but a light.
No disk spinning, etc. I took it back today and the guy looked at me lost but
said he'd take a look at it. He made the point to tell me that it was not a
motherboard change but just a chip replacement. I was curious ... I thought
I'd seen some 'hack-o-matic' mods posted to do things to your //c on the board
and was just trying to see if he was SUPPOSE to change motherboards and just
took a shortcut. I do not know the tech stuff so I am just asking. :)
