IIGS Upgrade info (another question)

Ok, so say I'm playing with something like "Tutor Tech" that seems to use the
double hi-res screen, and do color stuff. Most of the screen is typically 
white, but any white text is usually awash in pink. If I hop over to the
control panel and tell it I am using a monochrome screen then jump back
ot the program, the screen looks ALOT better (but it's in B/W). Does this
sound like a good candidate for the VGC upgrade?
   Specs: '87 IIGS, Serial#A2S2-E7322PDA2S6000
My VGC chip is labeled as follows: 344 s0046-2  Copyright Apple 86  8724MKL
  My white 80 column text is kinda pink fringed
