Good point - just after I posted that msg something appeared! I agree
that things have to be submitted before they can be posted - unfortunately
with some moderated groups (not yours of course) it is rather difficult to
tell which is the case.
It would be kind of nice if once a month a posting at least came thru
the moderated source and binaries groups indicating that the reason for
quiet was no submissions, too busy, trying to work thru things, etc.
At least that way folk would know if the moderator was still alive or not
(well, not if the moderator automated the msg I guess - but if the automated
msg included the number of submissions awaiting processing they would).
I understand the desire of moderators to put out a quality product - I have
the same desire as a FAQ maintainer. And I will even ,begrudgingly admit
that there _is_ a place for some moderated groups - especially with the
increasing nonsensical nuisances appearing on the net (green cards,
thigh creams, etc.) I shudder to think of the expended energies if all
relatively rational newsgroups had to move to moderation though.
