Re: What's an Apple II



The reason we write "Apple ][" for the older models is because that's
how it was printed onscreen when you switched the power on.  Most
Apple II computers are referred to in the same way their name is
printed when you boot them, except the IIGS (there's some disagreement
there -- I prefer "IIGS," but it's printed as "IIgs" when you turn the
machine on). :)
