Joseph posted a very mild flame, because Richard violated netiquette. (Yes,
he did. Let's accept that fact and move on).
Richard responded with one of the most violent flames I've ever seen, talking
about physically beating Joseph and lots of other fun things I'd rather
forget. In all my time on USENET, it has to be one of the most vile posts
I've ever seen in my life, and a complete and total overreaction to the
source post.
And now you, Joe, are flaming Joseph, because "we don't want to drive Mr King
off the net."
I'm sorry, but this is pathetic. "Movers and shakers" aren't exempt from
the simple rules of our society, and I don't see why that shouldn't apply
here. What Mr. King did was totally uncalled for and shows that, on the
net at least, he has a big problem when it comes to taking criticism. I
suggest that he brush up on his manners... if he doesn't, I don't think many
of us will pay him much attention any more.
