Wrong.  A page of information is considered a good thing, so that people
will have an idea of what they might be getting.  Check out binpost sometime.

Why so angry?  I don't think the request was that unusual, even if it was
phrased a bit confrontationally.  In the future, just include a small portion
of your readme file in a 0/0 'information' post about your archive, and
a whole lot of people will be happier.
