DHR works on the same idea as 80 column text. Actually it's every other
seven pixels are in alternating banks I believe. I would think that any added
difficulty in using DHR would be offset by no longer having to watch out for
color clashes like in standard hires. I think the reason why DHR didn't
become prominent is our old favorite, lack of compatibility. 64K machines
aren't capable of using it, and game publishers especially were not going to
blow off that large (at the time) a market.
