shufflepuck uh-uh

I have noticed a few people here writing about patching
"Shufflepuck Cafe" so
it will run on ROM 3 GS's. This a great idea, BUT, from what I
understand,
there was NEVER a legitimate copy of the program issued to the
public.

Broderbund apparently got ticked off when cracks of the game
showed up on BBS's
nationwide within a few days of demonstrating it at the
Consumer Electronics
Show, so they yanked it off of production. This only applies to
the GS version.

One of the neat things about the II line is that anybody with
some spare hours
can learn just about anything about the machines, making
copy-protection
schemes futile.

I suppose that some kind of downloadable patching program would
be legal -- but
putting copies of Shufflepuck itself would be a no-no. (In fact
anyone who even
admits having a copy of Shufflepuck may end up having that
giant Pig-Monster
knocking at their door!)

Just thought you enquiring minds would like to know!
