My Rom 3 battery is still going strong. My Rom 1 (a converted //E)
battery died a year ago. All I did was to clip the old battery out and
replace it with a rechargebale phone battery pack that I had laying
around here. I just used alligator clip leads. I haven't yet had to
recharge the battery pack. BTW, I checked the old battery that I
removed. It barely deflected the meter on its lowest scale. The
circuit must not require a great amount of power. When the battery
'died', it did so all of a sudden.
