ID a 3.5" Drive

I am trying to identify a 3.5" disk drive. It is fairly lightweight, smaller
than an Apple 3.5 (slightly), is about the same platinum color, has a
rectangular button on the right front for an eject, has a daisy chain smartport
connection on the back and only comes with a mailing label looking sticker on
the bottom that says:

	Model Number: AS800K
	Serial Number: 9003489
		Made in U.S.A.

I am having compatibility problems with it on a gs. I does not want to boot
anything I own. If I boot GS/OS (off the HD) and there is a disk in it, it
shows up, I can open the disk and see the files but when I try to run anything
off of it it dies and give me a window with 'ProDOS Error = $0027'. I then
return to finder. After playing around I found that I can format a disk on it
and then copy files to it and it will run the files. I have only done this
with a few things so far so I am not sure if there is a limit to what I can do
with this. My question is does anyone have an idea of what this is? Perhaps
there is a driver problem? Compatibilty? Anything you can tell me would help.

If you know of this drive can you tell me where its made (was made) and a rough
price on it.
