OK then how's this: for every IIgs user out there but a couple or three, there
is no point in putting a workstation card in a IIgs. I don't ever plan in put-
ting mine in a IIgs to see if it works. I can hardly imagine wanting to track
down a hard-to-find and expensive piece of hardware which duplicates something
already built in to avoid some perceived loss of performance. But then again
I got into the habit of booting GS/OS from floppies before running 8 bit soft-
ware before I got a hard disk. I like having the current tool versions when
I'm running, especially in my ROM 01 days, as that machine's ROM tool versions
are massively out of date.
Of course, you can still use the workstation card's logon and logoff programs
on the IIgs once you have Appleshare installed. So strictly speaking you can
log on and off while ProDOS 8 is running.
