If you are using GS/OS to print to your Deskjet you will be wasting your
$$$ if you expect to improve the speed of printing. The GS' graphic
rendering speed is the _real_ limit, not to mention the speed of the print
head itself. 

Similarly, It really doesn't matter how fast you fill up the print buffer,
since once it is full even the fastest parallel card can't send more
data until the printer has cleared some space in it. 

For real speed improvements in releasing your computer from print jobs,
try Express 2.0x from Seven Hills. I use it all the time.

Improvements in speed can also be made by rendering your page at 150 dpi
instead of 300 dpi, it is still superior to most impact DMPs and comes out
much faster!!
