Z-Link hangs on my //c!

For some reason, Z-Link seems to hang when it first boots:  I turn on my 
machine and modem and it loads in.  Then the screen goes to black.  Then 
it just hangs.  Only thing that gets it up again is turning off my 
modem!  If I turn my modem back on and even enter ONE little key-stroke 
on the keyboard, we're back to hanging.  Is this an interrupt problem ?  
Or what ?  Other users having similar difficulties, please contact me! I 
like the program and don't have the $ to shell out for ProTerm 3.1.
