These are the same people that supplied a hard disk for a friend of mine which
subsequently blew up (The HD unit, not the friend). After spending huge $s
shipping the unit to the US from Australia they repaired the power supply but
butchered the HD and the case.

I think that the HD is IDE but I can't really tell. Any clues?

Can anybody tell me what sort of drive this is likely to be and I may be able
to replace it and get it up and running again for him.

The brand on the HD is Western Digital (3.5") with a single ribbon cable
interface (so it isn't MFM or RLL). I tend to think that it is IDE because
I dont see provision for seven drive selects (si its not scssi?).

Are Apple II GS disk drives industry standard type drives or have they been
modified in some way to suit Apples?
